PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT

NIKKO liaises closely with research institutes on a worldwide basis to identify and be prepared for the need to weld new materials to stringent technical specifications.

We have our own in-house product development team to design new welding consumables and the facilities to ensure all facets of the weld metal properties are met.

Great attention is also given to 'weldability' of the new product, not only by our welding team, but by direct field welding trials by a variety of industrial users.

Work begins once our Development Team has identified the design aspect of a new consumable with regard to alloying, deoxidation, slag basicity and viscosity, weld metal properties and weldability.

After this, several small trial batches of electrodes are made. The first stage is on our laboratory extruder for further extensive testing.
